Rip Toned Wrist Wraps I
was skeptical about these when I opened the box. Other reviewers are
right, the material is crazy stiff. However, I soon found that the
material gives them a distinct advantages over similar Velcro wraps. I
used a similar looking pair of wraps that are made of more flexible
material. While they provide excellent wrist reinforcement, they
strangle the life out of your wrists and block circulation. I want, and
usually have to, rip them off immediately after WODs or heavy sets. I
was expecting the same to happen with the Rip Toned version. I was
ecstatic to learn that I could get the same level of support with these,
but they do not block circulation at all. They just stay stiff and
allow little openings for blood to flow. The flexible model conforms too
closely around the wrists and just block everything off. So, I finally
have a pair of wraps I can keep on for an entire workout. And once
adjusted, they pretty much stay where you put 'em. The second major
advantage of these is that the stiff material seems less likely to
retain bad workout odors. The flexible material in other wraps are
microbe magnets and stink like heck, even after a roll in the washing
machine. So I highly recommend these over other brands. Rip Toned Wrist Wraps

is a A level 14U catcher and had sprained her thumb. After using it this
past weekend she said it works amazingly well. Can barely feel a 63-65
mph pitch hitting her thumb. I recommend watching the video BEFORE
opening the package to get a feel for how to form it. Easy process: fit
the guard around her thumb, wrapped the included gauze tightly around it
to keep in place, she put her catchers mitt on and we had a catch for
about 30 min. It was perfectly formed after that. Great product so far
for us. Would highly recommend.

Go Finger Splint Injured Thumb
Came on time, great condition, functioned as described. Thumbs up.
I
am using it for mallet finger. Broke the tip of my pinky and tore the
tendon. Supposed to keep it straight for 6 weeks, it's been 4 and I have
kept it on the entire time. Was able to work out with it, ride a
scooter, and do life. Much better than the long clumsy stint I got from
the doctor which was always in the way.
Bonus: It comes with blue
plastic on it, which I never took off. Makes it look cool, and the kids
call it Dad's Iron Man finger. I'll take that.
Go Finger Splint Injured Thumb
Worked very well on my daughters broken finger. Go Finger Splint Injured Thumb i bought a
finger splint earlier from a drug store and it was good. After a while,
the straps became more loose. I bought these as a replacement in the
event my current one looses its grip. I tried it on, and i just tossed
my old one. The double straps offer more support and the holes do
provide more air circulation to the hand. My old one gave me finger
wrinkles throughout the day, these have given me no issue.

Although this review is for the right splint, I am at present using the
left one. I love these. I have osteoporosis and a lifetime's worth of
arthritis, and have worn and worn out about a dozen of these over the
years. These are the best I have ever worn. They are very
comfortable, highly adjustable, and made it possible for me to forgo a
cast from multiple fractures and sprains in my left hand and wrist. I'm
a slow healer, so I'll be wearing this through the holidays. I'm
grateful to have found something I'll be comfortable in for so long.
Thousands of people from all walks of life twist and sprain their ankles every day. whether you tripped on a sidewalk or landed on someone else's foot in a basketball game, a sprained ankle is one of the most base injuries around. Of course, every person knows they typical advice: R.I.C.E. (Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation). In other words, most people will propose you to just lay in bed as much as possible and ice your ankle until the swelling goes down and you can walk again. Fortunately, a new comprehension of the body reveals this is not the best way to heal such an injury. In order to understand why, you need to know a microscopic bit more about how the body works.
When you have an injury, the body immediately tries to protect that area to preclude additional injury. Inflammation is one of the body's best ways to protect the injured area from additional movement and harm. So, in the case of ankle sprain, you will find a lot of inflammation, which means you will barely be able to move your ankle at all as the joint swells up to a softball. And it will take many weeks if not months for the inflammation to gently decrease adequate for you to walk normally again. But, as the inflammation decreases, an additional one phenomenon will occur. Your body will yield scar tissue nearby the injury. Your body does this to help advance and protect the weakened joint from time to come injury. This is the body's natural response to injury if you just rest.
But, there are a estimate of problems with the natural medical process left to itself. One, it takes a very long time. Inflammation goes down very, very gently and does not effortlessly allow for the flow of fresh blood and nutrients into the injured area. It is also very hard to remove the waste from the cells in the injured area. So, although the inflammation protects the area from movement, it takes a great deal more time to heal the injury, because the ligaments and cells cannot get fresh blood and nutrients and also cannot remove waste efficiently. In other words, the inflammation blocks the free flow of wholesome blood into the area as well as blocking the free flow of waste products produced from the injury out of the body. In addition, the amelioration of scar tissue inhibits the movement of a joint, which means that in the future, your joint will be much less flexible and capable of strengthening itself.
In a nut shell, the body, if left to just rest, will heal itself as best it can, but will undoubtedly keep your ankle weak and inflexible which puts it at greater risk of injury in the future. So, here is how the body ordinarily heals itself if left on its own:
1) Inflammation response - to protect the area from additional injury which is very slow to fully heal and reduces the flow of blood and fresh nutrients into the area.
2) Produces scar tissue nearby the injury to help protect the injured area in the future, but also dramatically reduces flexibility and vigor in the joint.
Rehabilitation, on the other hand, still allows the body to rest most of the day, but also actively moves the joint to help dramatically reduce the inflammation and avoid the build up of scar tissue. That means that the ligaments will heal much faster and better, because they get fresh blood in and can move the waste out. Also, the movement will help reduce the adhesions advanced by scar tissue which will significantly advance your ankle joint and keep it flexible.
In fact, most people find that with proper rehabilitation, their ankles are far more flexible and strong then before they injured their ankles in the first place. Of course, this puts you at a much lower risk for injuring it again in the future. Remember, it is not working against the body, just helping the body to heal more efficiently. Joints that only rest and do not move get rusty and an injured joint, such as a sprained ankle, needs to continue to be moved, stretched and strengthened to preserve it's flexibility. For example, if you were to dislocate a finger, your physician will tell you to keep captivating it (one base exercise is to make a fist and then open it and spread your fingers out as wide as possible in a sink filled with warm water). They will account for to you that rehabilitating your finger is the key to insuring you sound its flexibility and vigor in the future. But, for some reason, when you twist or sprain an ankle, every person just says to rest. It is bizarre that people recognize that rehab is prominent for one joint but not another.
So, if you sprain an ankle, I strongly propose doing a good rehab program. I advanced a schedule that specifically works to heal your ankle within a week by significantly expanding the vigor and flexibility in the joint. It also dramatically reduces inflammation, scar tissue and the neuromuscular damage done by the injury. Thousands of others (including pro athletes) have quickly and effectively healed their ankle injuries with it and I welcome you to learn more about it.

Symptoms contain tingly whiteness, pain, paralysis and a discount in by hand dexterity. Severe Vwf can seriously work on your work, resulting in a need for hand and fingerinjury compensation. In very extreme cases Vwf sufferers can even lose fingers.

Stenosing Tenosynovitis, good known as Trigger Finger, is a disorder that has gained greater attention in the healing commerce over the last few years.
Often categorized as a disease in the past, its association to overuse and direct injury has become good recognized, revealing it as just another form of so many existing repetitive strain injuries like carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis and golfer's elbow.
The symptoms of Trigger Finger can vary in severity, but the telltale sign of the finger "catching" or "locking" is a indication of illness that no one can miss. As the finger is flexed downward towards the pal of the hand, the finger can snap down, locking into the pal of the hand. As the finger is extended, often times with the assistance of the opposing hand to straighten the finger, it will snap back into the extended position. For some, the finger may be more painful as it snaps down into the palm and for others it is just the opposite, with more pain as it snaps back into the extended position. Also, there are those that perceive smoother movement as the finger is flexed, but then it locks into the palm, and then as it is extended, jerks backwards into a straightened position.
The "catching" and "locking" of the affected finger is the effect of the nodule or adhesion that has formed on the flexor tendon to become stuck within the pulley principles (Tendon sheath) as the finger is flexed / extended. Although Trigger finger can present itself from acute trauma such as falling onto an outstretched hand, causing microtears in the tendon and the formation of scar tissue on the affected tendon, it most often caused by repeated overuse. Repetitive motions plus frequency, duration and force have the same effect as the acute injury, but it occurs over a longer duration of time. The effect of small micro-tears creating scar tissue with repeated use resulting in disagreement within the tendon sheath, causing added swelling and the continuous cycle of irritation, swelling and nodule growth.
Although direct trauma and overuse can cause Trigger finger, there are also other conditions that inflict this condition. Swelling caused by Arthritis can irritate the tendon and its sheath; the infection of a finger caused by a laceration can cause irritation and scarring of not only the tendon by also the tendon sheath.
Trigger Finger may be painless and annoying for some individuals, but for most, it is very painful and debilitating, reducing the potential of those affected to partake in simple daily tasks. Although many sufferers deal with Trigger Finger for years before addressing it, it is very foremost that this health is addressed at its onset in order to perform a more victorious outcome, no matter what the treatment is. Although surgical operation is one of the most tasteless treatments, it is foremost to understand the full range of therapies that are ready to treat it.
Often times, doctors suggest rest and over-the-counter medications for treating Trigger Finger, especially if symptoms are very mild or if they are just emerging. If symptoms are more progressed, they may suggest a splint or a cortisone injection. If cortisone is utilized, the personel needs to be very cautious, as the injection may be very, very painful. They also need to be aware that cortisone not only reduces pain and overall symptoms, it can cause severe degeneration of the tendon, resulting in far worse problems than what Trigger Finger presented. Although physicians will effort to have the someone return for more injections, it is best to avoid repeated use of cortisone. surgical operation is another selection often chosen, but with dinky relief as the occasion of the tendon sheath often increases scarring in the area and more severe Trigger Finger symptoms. The best rehabilitative clarification for this health is to implement conservative therapy while the cortisone is doing its job. This allows for the personel to perform corrective stretches and exercises while the finger can move through a normal range of motion without pain.
The conservative advent to treating Trigger Finger relies on stretches and exercises that target the muscles and tendons in the affected area. The active stretches and exercises performed by restoration devices like Flextend, Restore and other treatment devices can help eliminate the nodule or adhesion by breaking down the scar tissue and "thinning" the tendon, allowing it to move freely through the pulley principles / tendon sheath without the "catching" and related pain.

If you have a black fingernail, you may be wondering either it is caused by a fungal infection under the nail. This may well be the case, however, other things can cause a nail to turn black, so it's foremost to think other possibilities and possibly consult your doctor before jumping to conclusions.
Fungal infection of fingernails and toenails is called onychomycosis. Only a few species of fungus are capable of invading human hair and nails - they often gain entrance through a break in the skin or under the nail at the tip of the finger or toe. Because they fetch their nutrients from the protein found in human nails and dead skin cells, these fungi do not invade wholesome tissue. Instead, they invade the matrix of the nail itself and grow there, causing a black fingernail or toenail.
Onychomycosis is quite common: more than ten percent of the North American citizen will contact a fungal nail infection at some time in their lives: it is probably the most base cause of nail abnormalities in the normal population, however, there are other causes. A blow to the affected nail is the most inevitable alternative. When a nail or the root of a nail is struck so that blood vessels are broken and a bruise forms under the nail, a black area develops that takes a very long time to clear up. Depending on the severity of the bleeding, the whole nail or only part of the nail will be affected. Nails grow very gently and bruises are similarly slow to disappear even after soreness subsides - a black nail that persists long after the preliminary injury is no cause for alarm. It will grow out in time.
Nail injuries are, however, the route of entry for other organism that can either live in and under the nail without causing a qoute or set up an infection in exposed tissue. Some species of bacteria are known to colonize spaces in nail beds without causing infection. Some of these bacteria yield color changes, though shades of green are more typical than black. The bacterial colonies can persist for long periods of time without causing noticeable inflammation. Various species of yeast can set up severe and progressive infections of the nail bed and tissues colse to the nail, any way these infections regularly do not cause a black fingernail, and are ordinarily severe enough that the need for medical attentiveness is obvious. Yeast infections are, in fact, an additional one form of onychomycosis.
If you have not suffered a nail injury and your black fingernail is gently progressing and causing the nail to become thick, deformed, and crumbly, you may have true onychomycosis. Typically, infected nails are white, yellow, brown or black, and variations on these shades may be present. The infection often starts on a toenail and progresses to other toes and fingers, and is very resistant to treatment. If you reckon you have a fungal nail infection, make an appointment with your doctor for a proper diagnosis.

Finger Injury recompense - Why This Type of Work Claim Is So coarse
Broken fingers are estimated to catalogue for colse to 10% of all fracture injuries recorded each year. The vast majority of finger fractures are caused by blunt trauma, for example when a someone falls and breaks their landing with an out-stretched arm, or when fingers get trapped in a door. Any force that wrenches, bends or twists the finger may also cause a break. Finger fractures vary in their severity, depending on the extent of the damage done to bones, tendons, ligaments, nerves and blood vessels. An injured person's manual dexterity will be impaired at least temporarily following a broken fingerinjury, and they may be unable to achieve basic daily tasks without assistance. Loss of sensation and mobility in the finger can also force a someone to take time off work, and their potential to achieve their role may be impaired for weeks or months afterwards.
Fingers consist of three bones called phalanges, bound together by tendons and ligaments, and surrounded by nerves and blood vessels. A fracture injury will normally be intensely painful, with the finger swelling up and appearing visibly bent. Doctors will use traction to work the bones back into position, and will then apply strapping or a splint to hold the bones in place while they heal. A sick person may wish ongoing physiotherapy to accumulate full mobility in the finger, but otherwise their rescue should be perfect within a few weeks or months. Other finger breaks can be more involved to treat, such as a manifold or blend fracture, where the bone may have splintered into assorted pieces. In cases such as these, surgical operation will be required to reassemble the pieces of bone and accumulate them in place, often using metal plates and pins. The rescue time from this kind of finger fracture may be lengthy, and full mobility may never be regained.
Broken finger injuries at work normally occur in busy, hectic environments, and those where heavy loads are lifted and carried routinely. Employers must introduce a safe system of work that minimises the risk of workers getting injured. All manual handling tasks should be risk assessed, and workers must receive training in safe lifting techniques. Fingers often get trapped and crushed by heavy loads which are not properly balanced, or are awkward to lift. Workers may also trap fingers in machinery and pieces of equipment, accidents which are often due to poor maintenance, or the failure of supervision to provide workers with the suitable safety equipment. The actions of a co-worker may also cause an injury, for which supervision is finally liable under the principle of 'vicarious' liability. Finally, it is inherent for stress fractures to institute in the fingers due to overuse and repetitive strain.
Both employers and market establishments have a legal duty to provide safe premises for their visitors; whether employees or members of the public. This includes ensuring that slip and trip hazards which may cause broken fingers are eliminated as far as possible, and are dealt with promptly when they arise. At schools, amusement parks, freedom centres, riding schools and swimming pools, the owners or occupiers must provide a enough estimate of trained staff to monitor and supervise activities, especially when children are involved. Broken fingerinjury payment awards depend on which single finger is broken, the extent of the injury, and its residual effects. Awards of up to £23,500 will reflect a critical ongoing disability in the finger and hand. More quarterly awards will be between £1,900 and £3,000, where a broken finger has healed fully within a few months. For an index (middle) finger this range would increase, rising to a maximum of £6,500.

Three Treatments to Thumb Tendonitis
Thumb tendonitis is a painful health caused by the swelling of tendons in the wrist. The health has a few treatments, but they all work toward one greatest goal, to comfort the pain caused by the tendon swelling. One of these thumb tendonitis treatments is to rest the affected area. someone else medicine is to take anti-inflammatory medications to help ease the pain caused by the inflamed tendons. Unfortunately, the final type of thumb tendonitis medicine is to accomplish surgical operation to give the tendons some room to ease down. We will discuss the separate methods of thumb tendonitis treatment, and why they are used to help treat the condition.
The best way to treat thumb tendonitis is to rest the area affected. Wearing braces or a splint can help keep the injury immobile so the man does not have to move it around much. As long as the wrist affected by the health is not used often, thumb tendonitis will often die down by itself. This is the former thumb tendonitis medicine and it is usually the most successful.
The second best way to treat the health is to take anti-inflammatory medicine. This medicine, taken whether by mouth or by injection, helps calm the flared up tendons. While not a cure, it does help the pain by a lot. It does speed up healing by doing some of the work for your body. This type of thumb tendonitis medicine is often prescribed by doctors to population whose inflammation is unbearably painful.
Performing surgical operation on the wrist is not a tasteless treatment, but can be critical if the pain does not die down due to the other treatments. This course basically opens up the tendon surface to allow the tendons to swell outward to ease down on the irritation. This medicine is only used if the man is still complaining about the pain even after the other treatments.
Ranging from rest to surgery, there are three former ways to help treat thumb tendonitis. Rest is the first medicine tried, in which the affected area is given a rest and not used often. This often is the most successful. The next method is to take anti-inflammatory medicine which helps out by calming the tendons down. The final method, which is the most drastic, is to accomplish surgical operation to allow the tendons room to swell and ease the irritation. These are the three former ways of thumb tendonitis treatments available.

Are Bumps on Finger Joints Signs of Arthritis?
If you have bumps on your finger joints you may have early signs of arthritis.
About two years ago, a friend of mine who is in her 40's came to me for guidance about arthritis. Her physician had told her that her neck was like she was 65 years old. Not only did she have arthritis in her neck, but in her feet as well. My friend is passionate about horse riding - how much longer will she be able to do that?
Both my parents had arthritis - my father's was in his feet and hands, my mother's in her back. My husband has arthritis in his knee - a succeed of a rugby injury and having cartilage removed. Arthritis is both painful and debilitating.
What causes arthritis?
There are two types of arthritis - osteoarthritis (the most common, caused by wear and tear) and rheumatoid arthritis (inflammation of the joints due to an autoimmune disease).
According to physician Ray seaboard "over 70% of the habitancy over 50 years of age have some degree of degenerative arthritis ".
Joint fluid from an inflamed joint, contains inordinate free radicals. To counter free radical damage we need to consume a diet high in fresh fruits and vegetables and to supplement with optimal levels of antioxidants which comprise Vitamin E, beta-carotene, selenium, Vitamin D and Vitamin C. It is also advised to consume glucosamine which supports salutary cartilage.
Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease - caused by a virus or bacteria. The immune law becomes confused and it attacks itself rather than the bacteria or virus. The joints come to be inflamed causing lasting inflammation, pain and swelling; and the joint fluid which is regularly thick becomes thin, so the cartilage becomes less protective.
My horse-riding friend is a 'health nut' - she eats organic food and has a salutary lifestyle. But that hasn't been adequate to prevent Osteoarthritis. My hint is to add advanced-quality broad spectrum nutritional supplements - antioxidants, multi-vitamins, multi-minerals, glucosamine and omega-3 to a salutary lifestyle to hold salutary joints and bones. And to also continue with practice to articulate fitness, muscle strength, heart health, relax pain and stiffness and to get great quality of sleep.

Trigger Finger - What Causes My Finger To Lock And Catch And Get Stuck?
Trigger finger is a tasteless problem in the hand that causes locking and pain in the complicated finger or thumb. The technical name used to retell trigger finger is stenosing tenosynovitis. Stenosing means a narrowing of a tunnel or tube-like structure (the sheath of the tendon). Tenosynovitis means inflammation of the tendon.
Your fingers flex (make a fist) and increase (straighten out). Two sets of tendons make this potential - flexor tendons (on the palm side) and extensor tendons (on the back side of the hand). Trigger finger involves the flexor tendons of the hand.
Flexor tendons are ordinarily smooth, white bands of tissue that start as muscles in the forearm and connect to the bones in your fingers. As they go from the forearm into the wrist and fingers, they pass through tight tunnels (sheaths) that keep them close to the bones of your hand.
The sheath is lined with a lubricating tissue called synovium. This tissue sits in the middle of the tunnel wall and the tendon. Trigger finger is caused by inflammation of the synovium, enlargement of the tendon, and thickening or narrowing of the sheath itself, ordinarily in the area of the palm closest to the fingers.
The name of the tendon sheath in this area is the "A1 pulley".
These problems with the tendon's lining, the tendon, and the sheath, all merge to make it hard for the tendon to glide smoothly through the tunnel as your finger bends and straightens.
As the inpatient tries to flex (bend into a fist) the affected finger, the enlarged tendon has issue passing underneath the sheath's tight opening. When the inpatient grips tight enough, the swollen tendon is suddenly pulled through the sheath with a painful snap, which may lock the finger in a bent position (it won't straighten except with help from the other hand). The activity of straightening the finger from its locked position creates someone else often painful snapping sensation as the enlarged tendon passes back through the tunnel.
What are the Causes?
The cause of trigger finger cannot be known for sure in all cases. Work or hobby activities that involve repetitive gripping or keeping tools strongly for long periods of time may strain the tendons and cause swelling and irritation of the tendon synovium (lining) or the tendons themselves.
Some patients with other curative problems like diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, or gout may institute trigger fingers more oftentimes than the average person.
What are the signs and symptoms?
Pain in the area of the inflamed tendon lining or sheath may be the first sign of trigger finger. Sometimes the pain may shoot or increase into the finger on the top side (back side of the hand), but is ordinarily focused on the palm side at the base of the finger or thumb.
Painful locking or snapping of the finger is the next stage of symptoms that most patients experience. This is often worse in the morning but may be worse at the end of the work day.
When symptoms have been going on for several months, the locking may stop, but patients may be left with a stiff finger that does not bend or straighten like it used to. The pain may or may not subside as the locking stops.
How is it treated?
Non-surgical rehabilitation is a good first step in treating trigger finger. Surgical operation may be a inexpensive first step if the finger is locked in a painful, stiff position and cannot be "unstuck" by the inpatient without extreme pain. This is unusual.
The first step in rehabilitation is to avoid or decrease the activity that seems to aggravate the locking and pain. Warm water soaks, anti-inflammatory medicines, and over-the-counter rubs and creams may help with the symptoms of trigger finger.
A steroid injection may also be recommended. The injection places a small estimate of anti-inflammatory cortisone directly where the problem is - in the tendon sheath. This reduces swelling and inflammation in the tendon sheath and may cure the problem forever. Success rates with injections are close to 60% in most cases.
Surgery may be thorough when these non-surgical treatments fail to cure the problem. I ordinarily advise no more than two steroid injections in the same finger, but this rule is not absolute.
Trigger finger Surgical operation is inpatient surgery. It is done under local anesthetic, with or without sedation. An incision is made in the palm of the hand at the base of the finger or thumb.
The surgeon cuts the swollen, tight tendon sheath at this level, and this frees up the tendon to glide smoothly through the finger.
After Surgical operation a small dressing is located on the hand to safe the incision but allow flexibility and motion for the fingers. In most cases the dressing can be removed in five days and the inpatient may lightly use all the fingers the day after surgery. If there are sutures on the exterior of the skin, they are removed in 10 to 14 days.

Why Rest Alone Will Not Heal a Sprained Ankle
Thousands of habitancy from all walks of life twist and sprain their ankles every day. whether you tripped on a sidewalk or landed on someone else's foot in a basketball game, a sprained ankle is one of the most base injuries around. Of course, every person knows they typical advice: R.I.C.E. (Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation). In other words, most habitancy will recommend you to just lay in bed as much as potential and ice your ankle until the swelling goes down and you can walk again. Fortunately, a new understanding of the body reveals this is not the best way to heal such an injury. In order to understand why, you need to know a little bit more about how the body works.
When you have an injury, the body immediately tries to safe that area to forestall further injury. Inflammation is one of the body's best ways to safe the injured area from further movement and harm. So, in the case of ankle sprain, you will find a lot of inflammation, which means you will barely be able to move your ankle at all as the joint swells up to a softball. And it will take many weeks if not months for the inflammation to slowly decrease sufficient for you to walk normally again. But, as the inflammation decreases, someone else phenomenon will occur. Your body will furnish scar tissue nearby the injury. Your body does this to help improve and safe the weakened joint from hereafter injury. This is the body's natural response to injury if you just rest.
But, there are a amount of problems with the natural healing process left to itself. One, it takes a very long time. Inflammation goes down very, very slowly and does not effortlessly allow for the flow of fresh blood and nutrients into the injured area. It is also very hard to remove the waste from the cells in the injured area. So, although the inflammation protects the area from movement, it takes a great deal more time to heal the injury, because the ligaments and cells cannot get fresh blood and nutrients and also cannot remove waste efficiently. In other words, the inflammation blocks the free flow of salutary blood into the area as well as blocking the free flow of waste products produced from the injury out of the body. In addition, the amelioration of scar tissue inhibits the movement of a joint, which means that in the future, your joint will be much less flexible and capable of strengthening itself.
In a nut shell, the body, if left to just rest, will heal itself as best it can, but will surely keep your ankle weak and inflexible which puts it at greater risk of injury in the future. So, here is how the body ordinarily heals itself if left on its own:
1) Inflammation response - to safe the area from further injury which is very slow to fully heal and reduces the flow of blood and fresh nutrients into the area.
2) Produces scar tissue nearby the injury to help safe the injured area in the future, but also dramatically reduces flexibility and force in the joint.
Rehabilitation, on the other hand, still allows the body to rest most of the day, but also actively moves the joint to help dramatically cut the inflammation and avoid the build up of scar tissue. That means that the ligaments will heal much faster and better, because they get fresh blood in and can move the waste out. Also, the movement will help cut the adhesions developed by scar tissue which will significantly improve your ankle joint and keep it flexible.
In fact, most habitancy find that with proper rehabilitation, their ankles are far more flexible and strong then before they injured their ankles in the first place. Of course, this puts you at a much lower risk for injuring it again in the future. Remember, it is not working against the body, just helping the body to heal more efficiently. Joints that only rest and do not move get rusty and an injured joint, such as a sprained ankle, needs to continue to be moved, stretched and strengthened to maintain it's flexibility. For example, if you were to dislocate a finger, your doctor will tell you to keep involving it (one base practice is to make a fist and then open it and spread your fingers out as wide as potential in a sink filled with warm water). They will account for to you that rehabilitating your finger is the key to insuring you enunciate its flexibility and force in the future. But, for some reason, when you twist or sprain an ankle, every person just says to rest. It is bizarre that habitancy recognize that rehab is prominent for one joint but not another.
So, if you sprain an ankle, I strongly recommend doing a good rehab program. I developed a program that specifically works to heal your ankle within a week by significantly expanding the force and flexibility in the joint. It also dramatically reduces inflammation, scar tissue and the neuromuscular damage done by the injury. Thousands of others (including professional athletes) have swiftly and effectively healed their ankle injuries with it and I welcome you to learn more about it.
